At 12:50 PM on December 20, 2008, I arrived in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. A goal, no! A dream achieved!

My steed, a 1993 BMW R100GSPD, performed strongly despite numerous drivetrain leaks. We departed Texas on October 16, 2008, and made two stops for repairs, one in San Jose, Costa Rica and the second in Santiago, Chile. We arrived several days sooner than December 31, which was my plan.

The Goose and I are now safely and dryly housed at AlbaŽs House on Bahia Ushuaia for a few days.  It is raining now and very cold.  In fact, there were a few minutes of snow in the past hour.

I want to take this minute to thank Ken Causey who designed and maintains this Blog and Jacob Peek who manages the posting of my photographs. Only with these two skilled friend's unrelenting help am I able to share this adventure with you.
